Na Jarmutę
Jarmuta is one of the most recognizable peaks located near Szczawnica. It is one of the few volcanic-origin mountains in the Pieniny range, distinguished among others by its very characteristic conical shape. Jarmuta is largely composed of volcanic andesite, which emerged at this location on the earth’s surface during magma flows about 24 million years ago. The peak lies on the northern side of the Małe Pieniny ridge and is separated from the Cyrhle peak lying on it by the Klimontowska Pass. Jarmuta itself has two summits, between which there is a small Matwijowa Pass. The higher summit is 794 m above sea level, the lower one (sometimes called Czuprana) is 777 m above sea level. On the top of Jarmuta, there is a clearing called Andrzejówka, where a television transmitter visible from afar has been built (route approx. 1.5 hours).
